HowMuch ("we," "us," "our") is a location-based marketplace that enables users to post deals or vibes, chat, and coordinate fixed-price exchanges. this privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. by using the HowMuch app or services, you consent to this policy.
account & profile data
content you provide
device & usage data
we only share data in these cases:
service providers: supabase (database, auth, storage, edge functions), push notification gateways, analytics, and infrastructure vendors. they access data solely to perform services on our behalf.
other users: content you post (photos, description, price, nickname) is visible to other users. chat messages are visible to participants only.
legal / safety: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of HowMuch, our users, or the public.
business transfers: if HowMuch is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, data may transfer as part of that transaction.
we do not sell personal information or share it with advertisers.
we retain data while your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward to support reactivation, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. posts, chat logs, and media may persist until deleted by you or as required by policy. you can request account deletion via in-app settings or contact@secondthumb.com.
profile & posts: edit or delete posts, comments, and avatars any time.
location: grant or revoke location access through ios settings > privacy > location services.
notifications: toggle push categories (messages, social, transactional) under settings > notifications or in ios settings > notifications.
data access / deletion: contact contact@secondthumb.com to export data or delete your account.
camera / photos: manage permissions in ios settings.
HowMuch is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. if we learn that we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.
we use supabase auth, hashed passwords, tls, and restricted access controls to protect data. despite best efforts, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and you use the service at your own risk. please report security issues to contact@secondthumb.com.
HowMuch's infrastructure currently runs in the united states (supabase project region: us-east-2). if you access the app from outside the u.s., your data may be transferred to and processed in the u.s. by using HowMuch, you consent to these transfers.
we may update this privacy policy to reflect operational or legal changes. if we make material changes, we'll notify you in-app or via email before the new policy takes effect. continued use of the app after changes means you accept the revised policy.
